PeriFerry was founded in 2017 to support the trans community by providing training, placements, and business sensitization. Jain has assisted at least 230 trans persons in finding work in corporations so far. She is adamant about altering people’s perceptions and dispelling the stigmas and misunderstandings that afflict the community.
A Chennai-based Marwari girl took a step back from her own life to help others find significance in theirs. With her PeriFerry programme, she has now changed the lives of countless transsexual persons. Its creator, Neelam Jain, quit her well-paying investment banking position to pursue her dream of making the world a more accepting place for trans individuals. Jain began by making education and employment opportunities available to the people, allowing them to live respectable and equal lives.
